Honorary mention in Denmark

Our 'Travel Faraway at Home' concept gets a recognition for its dedication to diversity and dialogue.

Our Pocket Stories team from Paris, Baghdad and Amsterdam chose to stand together when we heard the news about Paris while working in Denmark: Adrien Perelloybestard, Zeeneb Bar, Daan Wurpel and Ingi Mehus.

Together our efforts were rewarded with the Honorary Mention for our Travel Faraway concept during the Afsnit I Social Innovation Festival and Competition award show for our “dedication, team spirit and commitment to bring new adventures to us all” and we are invited to contribute to the United Nations first crowdsourcing challenge for refugees.

We want to thank all the contributors: Naimat Rawan, Henrik Göthberg, Lene Kohlhoff Rasmussen, Kaya Stok, all the ICT students, the wonderful public, and all the migrants and travellers who co-designed our first event; there would be no #TravelFarawayAtHome without you!

Our quest for more peaceful societies is not a national problem, but a concern for all of humanity. Let us not get too carried away with a patriotic discourse in a time where it is easy to become blinded by the fear of others. Instead of getting more divided, this is the time to unite.

Love to #Paris but equally to #Beirut #Baghdad #Aleppo #Kabul and #EverywhereElseThatExperienceViolence

Join us to replace our fear migration with the same curiosity we have for travelling.
